Anita Taro-Espinoza
Managing Partner

Anita’s expansive 30-year healthcare career includes executive management roles held in revenue cycle management, quality improvement, risk management and information systems. She has worked at health plans, academic medical centers, hospitals and health systems, medical groups and medical device companies. She has been advising clients on how to operationalize key strategic objectives by providing business and feasibility analysis, strategic planning, leadership and organizational development, and implementing information technology systems necessary to support successful operations.

Anita has a B.S. in Social Psychology from UCLA. Prior to starting The Gap Group, Anita was an independent consultant for 20 years.

Christopher Lo
Consulting Director

Christopher has extensive experience in the implementation of a variety of electronic health records (EHR) systems, system interfaces, and Patient Portals, and is a seasoned end-user trainer. In addition, he is an expert on achieving Meaningful Use for Medicare and Medicaid and applying this knowledge to client system implementation and upgrades for successful attestation to CMS. He has in-depth knowledge of National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Patient Center Medical Home (PCMH) certification. Christopher also has expertise in revenue cycle management and patient engagement surveys.

Christopher has a B.S. in Business Accounting and Finance from California State University Fullerton. Prior to starting The Gap Group, Chris worked as an independent consultant.

 

Sharon Hirose
Director of Strategy and Business Development

Sharon is a skilled project manager with expertise in managing strategic initiatives, business development and marketing and communications projects at hospitals and health systems and medical groups. She also has experience in market research and competitive analysis, branding, public and private grant writing and compliance reporting. Her experience also extends to academic administration where she worked as the Administrator for the Executive Master of Health Administration Program at the USC Price School of Public Policy and in admission and enrollment for the School of Psychology and Education at Pepperdine University

Sharon has a M.A. in Psychology from Pepperdine University, B.A. in Anthropology from UCLA and Project Management Certification from UCI Extension. Prior to joining The Gap Group, Sharon was a project manager at St. Joseph Health and Huntington Medical Foundation.
